How do I create a remote connection over the net using pcAnywhere?

I have installed pcAnywhere 12 host on a laptop, which I aim to connect to over the net (as the laptop is now 20 miles away from me). When it was with me, I had configured it so that I could remotely connect via a local network that I had created, this worked. I am now not able to connect to the laptop since it left my house! Can I please have assistance on how to establish a remote connection over the web using pcAnywhere 12?How do I create a remote connection over the net using pcAnywhere?
For ADSL:

Create a VPN (virtual private connectio), and connect via the internet IP.

For Dail-up:

Connect via the landline or ISDN number or cellphone.
