That's what you need and is easiest to set up if your computer has USB 2.0 slots on it. Otherwise you will have to buy one that goes inside your computer in a PCI slot.

If your computer is less than 4 years old you will have usb 2.0 in it. If its older you should check to find out by looking on the computer company's website for your computer.

You don't have to buy that specific wireless usb adapter in that link above. You could go to any best buy or wal-mart and get one that will work fine for about $40.00 U.S.It can be a different brand than what the router is. Just buy one that says wireless N adapter. Those will work with wireless G, G+, and N routers.

Before you buy one go look at the wireless router you have and make sure its not a wireless B router though. Those kind are old, slow, and you'll have a harder time finding a wireless USB adapter for it.

After that just FOLLOW the instructions that come with it and you'll be good to go.

You must buy a wireless PCI/USB card for your computer and then link it up to your wireless router.

If you either don't have wireless or can't get it, you'd have to use a RJ45 Ethernet cable.
You need a cable to connect
You basically have 4 options:

Go through finished wall and ceiling board to run an ethernet jack to the computer in your bed room.

Run a long ethernet cable across the floor to the router.

You can also get a wireless card. Both laptop and desktops can use a USB wireless adapter. Laptops work best with PCMCIA card since they don't get in the way as much. Make sure you setup your security!

The easiest method for setting up is powerline. Many people do not understand that your power plug wall sockets can actually turn into network jacks. Check these links out:
