I gave my WoW account to my friend after I stopped playing ages ago and he played for a couple of months and quit too. He linked the WoW account with his battle.net account.
How do I separate my WoW account and his battle.net account?
And/or replace it with my own battle.net account?

You can change the battle.net account email to your own email adress if there is only one wow account (your account) under your friend's battle.net account. You need to know your friend's battle.net account and password, or you can ask your friend to change it for you. If your friend's account is also under that battle.net account, then there maybe more trouble to unmerge your account from his battle.net account.
