How is net charge related to covalent and ionic bonds?

Please be exact in your response, is the net charge changed during these transaction (giving or taking electrons) or is a certain charge needed for the change? Also please don't just post anything.

Thanks in advance ^_^How is net charge related to covalent and ionic bonds?
for ionic bonds, net charge remains the same. because when one element loses an electron, the other will gain the electron. for covalent bonds, electrons are being shared, so net charge also remains the same. How is net charge related to covalent and ionic bonds?
as far as I know. covalent bonds have no net charge, ionic bonds do have a net charge...
