How safe is it to make a purchase through the net?

I rec'd a call from Citibank 1 day after I bought 2 tickets from Cebu Airways through the net, telling me that my card has been copied and a transaction in US$ was pending for authorisation. Luckily, the bank called me to verify before they approved the transaction, which was rejected of course. Applause to them for their alertness and efficiency. Wonder how all these people are able to copy your card, when there is a security lock.

Do you think it is safe to make a purchase through the net?How safe is it to make a purchase through the net?
I would run Malwarebytes and superantispyware to see if you got some infections. There are malware that can log your keystrokes as you type in your credit card details for instance Zbot which is a notorious trojan that aim at unsuspecting users. Malware today is much more sophisicated than 2 years ago, and some can give no signs at all that your computer is affected.

If you use a wireless router, you need to secure that, and you need to have a firewall and security protection. It is safe if you know what to do and I do buy through the net myself.How safe is it to make a purchase through the net?
i make purchases on the internet all the time. the best way to make sure you are safe is to look in the bottom right corner of your internet browser and make sure that the little lock symbol is there. If that is there, you know that it is a secure webpage. I've been purchasing things off the internet for the past 6 years and never had a problem.
The answer is Yes and NO,

the first thing you need to know before making a payment online is to make sure your computer is not infected by malware that can record all the of the information you enter online and use it to take out money from your account, make sure to have a good anti virus software installed on your computer%26lt;

this is what is for you to do at your end, now is what you need to know about the websites end, make sure that they are securing the information you send over their site some websites have Logo's from security verification companies that approves that the site is safe use,
