What are alternative ways to fish besides with a net?

How can you fish without using a net?? I'm talkin fast and plentiful too. Fishing nets are harmful to other animals such as the Indus River Dolphin?What are alternative ways to fish besides with a net?
This is not exactly a Vegetarian %26amp; Vegan question.

(Although I have know some who thought that anything other than red meat is vegetarian.)



Even rod and reel fishing may use a net. But not the type that would endanger dolphins.

While doing field work for biology we used an electric shock. Start off on a small current and work your way up. The larger the fish the more the skin surface so the smaller the current needed to knock it out. It is the same principle that an electric eel uses.



A ';fish trap'; may be the best thing to use. Big enough for the fish to get into but too small for the dolphins. The basket type is good most places or a pen or tide dam could work in some locations.

Dump a whole bottle of Clorox into a pond and the fish will all just float to the top.

uh stab it in the side while standing in a river.... lol jk, ive never fished before, but just leave the fish alone.

The old tried and true GI Method is to pull the pin on a concussion grenade and throw it in the water.



Half a block of C-4 or Symtec works just as well.



The major drawback to fishing with explosives is the noise. If you are in a combat zone it might draw enemy fire, and if you are not in a combat zone the noise might attract game wardens.

Using a long line. Look it up on the net. You take a really long line of nylon attach numerous hooks and drag it out to see (boat or kite) and leave it for ages.

Still not very nice for the fish. I think I'd rather be caught in a net than by a hook in my mouth, or better yet not at all!
